The movement of the breath represents the sacred reciprocity of life. The undulation of the inward and outward breath, the give and the take, reminds me of being in relationship and of consciously relating be it with family, friends, non human kin or Country.
I am of Indian, Armenian, Irish and English settler descent. I acknowledge my ancestors and the all that bought me to the here and now. I was born on Noongar country (Perth) and currently live on beautiful Wurundjeri Country of the Kulin nations (Melbourne). I live with my partner and our two sons. We live here as an uninvited guests on stolen land.
Decolonisation is an ongoing act of returning and tending to Country while being aware of our own stories and conditioning. I pay my respects to the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people and all First Nations and Torres Straight people and acknowledge their ongoing connection to the skies, waterways and Country. I commit to uplifting Aboriginal voices, listening to their stories, honouring their wisdom which is that of the land. I commit to Paying the Rent.
