Birth is a journey, it is not an outcome.

Birth is a Rite of Passage and it is a Journey. Birth is not an outcome. Birth is both a beginning and an ending. Where we welcome or celebrate, we also grieve. For the world, the people, the Earth. For our inner children. For the passing of precious time. Birth cannot happen without death and death cannot happen without birth. When we emerge we are reborn and we are changed.

If we are souls in bodies and the earth is living and we are all connected, then the crowning of the baby's heads being born is this time is not just physical, it is metaphysical. Babies being born through the crumbling of old structures have more room above their heads... they’ll be bigger, broader thinkers and they will ALL wear crowns.

The mothers of the world who birth them must know of their own worth, their own power and they will find it in the Underworld. They will rise rooted in their sovereignty with open hands, an open heart and an ear to the deepest inner knowing. They receive, they do not seek.

In the words of Brittany, initiated Mother before my very eyes. We must “have a strong spine, soft front and wild heart.” And we must feel our own fury and give our babies the permission to feel their own. We must not try to fix them or train them into submission. They are not born broken. They are here for a reason... and so are we.
